Proposal Form

Describe your idea for the brief:
I aim to create a classy, yet fun, new, Indie Pop/Indie Rock magazine which appeals to the target audience.

Genre / sub genre: list similar texts which have inspired your thoughts:
The magazines NME and Q have inspired my choice of magazine as they both contain this genre.

Target audience: gender / age / characteristics / behaviour
The magazine is aimed at both men and women, but mainly women, around the ages of 16 - 25. Their characteristics would probably be fun, out-going, sophisticated and have a love for festival and gig environments.

Major conventions I will use:
A main image of a young, glamorous model portraying a new, upcoming singer. The model will be shot in a medium close-up with a "chocolate box" type of pose. This will emphasise flawless beauty and will create an inviting front cover. I will tease the enigma code with an engaging main sell line to draw in the audience.

Conventions I may subvert / change / not use:
I may include a free gift to my magazine accompanied with buzz words to attract the reader more. The colour palette will include a few contrasting colours. I may change these colours depending on the photographs of the model and the colours of the text and images on the different pages.

Original Images what / where:
Young female model photographed at a studio with a professional camera.

Potential difficulties / Plan B:
Booking a studio may be difficult to organise, therefore taking a professional camera and using a white back drop and lights would give a similar effect.
